Our private instructors provide one-to-one training for players of all ages and abilities. Working with you inside our quality indoor batting cages our instructors will work closely with you to hone your skills & perfect your game.
Our instructors are available for weekly private lessons which can be booked per 55 minutes.
Our Private Instructors
Dave played for the University of New Haven, earning 3 All-Conference awards, as well as Rookie of The Year and a 3-time All-New England player. In high school, Dave was 3-time All-District player, as well as being named team captain his senior year, earning an All-State award. He led his team to a State Championship his junior year.
Dave’s coaching experience includes 3 years at the University of New Haven, 5 years at Albertus Magnus College, and 9 years at the University of Bridgeport. He is entering his fifth year as the hitting coach for West Haven High School, while being the hitting instructor at The Sports Cave.

Tommy Lawrence is our pitching instructor here at The Sports Cave. He has experience playing for the University of Maine, the Chatham Anglers of the prestigious Cape Cod Baseball League, and played in the minor leagues for the Tampa Bay Rays.
He is now the owner and does lessons out of The Sports Cave.

John Anquillare has been a prominent athlete and coach throughout his entire career, and we are extremely excited to welcome him as our professional softball instructor.
John is well known for his Major League Fast Pitch Softball career, as he was a member of 9 All-American teams, winning 5 national championships and is a recipient of 2 National Tournament MVPs, Player of The Decade in 1980, and voted Olympic Magazine Top 50 Amateur Athlete USA in 1983. He also hold the individual season record with a .432 batting average and has a lifetime batting average of .345 for 15 seasons.
John is now dedicated to teaching softball instructions at The Sports Cave.
